Wensum View Cottage boasts two areas on Mill Lodge Farm for fishing. The first is a private stretch of the River Wensum. The river contains Roach, Dace, Pike, Chub and the odd Brown Trout. The second area is a purpose built carp pond, which contains King and Ghost varieties. The pond also contains Roach. Previous clients have used the facilities to teach younger members of their family the fine art of fishing. For those not drawn to fishing, families of swans and ducks frequent the river and appreciate being fed by visitors to the farm or why not try your hand at pond dipping!

Mill lodge farm’s proprietors make every effort to work with the environment agency and at this time (Jan 2010), there are otters inhabiting the river. However, it is unlikely that you will be lucky enough to see one. Many species of bird such as Kingfishers and little Grebe frequent the river. Sheep use the 6 acres of land for grazing and in the springtime, the lambs are a joy to watch as they frolic around the meadow.
